Volunteer Work
During my time at Oregon Institute of Technology, I participated in several clubs that contributed to the community, these include the OIT AUVSI Robotics Club through which we assisted in several STEM programs, and the OIT Social Dance Club which gave me the opportunity to teach community dance lessons and further the dance community in Klamath Falls.
AUVSI Club
During the five years I spent at Oregon Tech, I was a leading member of the OIT AUVSI Robotics club, holding the position of president for 3 1/2 years and treasurer for my final year while taking on the roll of senior project lead as well.
Through the AUVSI Club, I participated in and assisted planning several STEM outreach events where the club presented new technologies and ran workshops for children and community members.
For more information please visit the OIT AUVSI club website here.
Social Dance Club
In high school I was introduced to Ballroom Dancing and have striven to share it with others. I joined the newly created OIT Social Dance club my second year and was president my last two years of school.
The social dance club helps teach both OIT students and community members. As a member of the club I also helped teach and perform swing dance at school dances and teach at community events.
Stewardship
As an avid outdoors enthusiast I have always held a deep respect for the public lands we are privileged to enjoy. One of the ways I show this respect is by participating in garbage pick-up events (particularly those run by SonsOfSmokey) as well as simply collecting garbage any time I see it on our public lands.
