Power System

At the heart of the motorcycle is a kelly KLSD brushless motor controller paired with a mars 0907 BLDC motor. The KLSD controller offers a continuous current of 160 amps and a maximum voltage of 60 volts. This results in enough power to reach a top speed of 60 mph without overheating any components. The controller is set up to use regen braking when the throttle is at zero, giving the motorcycle a natural engine braking feel.

The horn, lights, and other accessory electronics are powered using a switching dc/dc power stepdown converter that reduces the main battery voltage down to 12 volts.

A central electronics box made from an ammo can houses the motor controller, dc/dc converter, and turn signal electronics.
